SUMMARY:Park Point 5-Miler & 2-Mile Walk
DESCRIPTION:Holding the crown as northern Minnesota’s oldest road race\, the Park Point 5-Miler & 2-Mile Walk starts and finishes near the Park Point Pavilion in Duluth\, MN. A picturesque course sandwiched between the open water of Lake Superior and the Duluth Harbor\, this event offers a perfect mid-summer option for runners and walkers alike. \nThe 5-Miler is a more competitive running field but is now preceded by a 2-Mile Walk\, which encourages people of all ages and abilities to come out and enjoy Duluth’s Park Point. \nThis is the last of three races involved in the annual KP Challenge\, in which participants commit to three races throughout the spring and summer. The others are the Saint Fennessy 4K and Fitger’s 5K\, with the aim to help participants keep on a regular training schedule and consistently complete longer distance races. \nNet proceeds from the event go to benefit the Young Athletes Foundation (YAF)\, the nonprofit arm of Grandma’s Marathon focused on helping the area’s youth develop healthy and active lifestyles. Since its inception in 1990\, the YAF has donated more than $1.3 million to youth athletic and nonprofit organizations in a five-county region.

SUMMARY:Lance Pfrimmer Memorial Run
DESCRIPTION:Please join the Pfrimmer Family and the Rochester and Stout Running Communities in the second annual Lance Pfrimmer Memorial Run and Walk on Saturday\, August 9th. All proceeds from this event will go to the Lance Pfrimmer Memorial Scholarship\, supporting students who ran track and field and/or cross country in high school with a preference to students who are still running while pursuing a post-secondary degree. \nThis event and scholarship were created in loving memory of Lance Pfrimmer\, who we lost far too soon. His friends & family created this event to honor his memory and continue his legacy of sportsmanship\, positivity\, and athleticism. \nThe event on August 9th will start and end at the Eagle’s Aerie #2228 (917 15th Ave SE\, Rochester\, MN 55904) and consists of two distances: an 8K Run and a 1 Mile Walk. Our 8K route will feature a loop on the Mayo High School track\, where Lance spent many of his days. Both routes will pass by the location of Lance’s memorial bench. \nThe first 500 registrants will receive swag: wooden nickel\, temporary tattoo and collectible baseball card.\nParticipants will enjoy post-run refreshments as well as the option to purchase food and beverages from the Eagle’s Club. There will also be a silent auction. \nSchedule of Events TBD but we anticipate a similar schedule to last year with a 10AM race start. \nPlease direct any questions or offers of donations/sponsorships to: LiveLikeLance8K@gmail.com

SUMMARY:A Race to End Suicide
DESCRIPTION:The Jordyn Clark Foundation\, a Minnesota non-profit corporation\, was created to honor Jordyn Clark\, a compassionate and affectionate individual who was lost too soon to suicide. She was beyond enthusiastic about soccer\, goalkeeping\, coaching\, and spreading kindness to all. Through our efforts\, we aim to raise awareness about suicide prevention and break down the barriers surrounding mental health and well-being. \nEach year\, we host our 5k/1 Mile Memorial Event titled “A Race to End Suicide” to honor her incredible impact on us all. It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring the community together and remind one another that you’re never alone. The event will be held on September 13th\, starting at 9 AM at Central Park Pavilion in Eagan\, MN. Through this event\, we raise funds through registrations\, donations\, sponsors\, and our silent auction. These funds are then redirected to our primary mental health awareness efforts\, which include sponsoring life-saving mental health trainings for organizations\, developing our goalkeeper glove giveback program\, funding our newly created “Sunshine Award” scholarship in Jordyn’s honor\, and much more. \nWe would love to see you there and to have you join our community!
